Hello Neighbors,
This past week was the beginning of our extensive concrete pouring on the site. Over the coming weeks, you’ll see the installation of the rebar for the mat slab and watch as the project’s mat slab is poured in two phases in late-July and early-August. The mat slab is the thick, reinforced concrete foundational slab that will cover the entire footprint of the building. Similar to a single-family home, once the building’s foundation or mat slab is completed, the building can begin vertical construction in the coming months.
Update for July 3, 2025
This past week, we have completed placing the concrete for the two placing boom pads which will be used to support the temporary concrete placing booms. These are equipment needed to later pour concrete for the foundation. We have installed the electrical conduit below the foundation and poured most of the concrete for the rat slab layer, which is essentially a thin layer of concrete below the foundation. You’ll notice photos of the rat slab below.
By next week, we will begin to install the waterproofing layer on the bottom of the mat slab foundation throughout a majority of the building footprint. We will also begin to install the inserts for mechanical, electrical and plumbing which run through the mat slab. Most of the work you will see in the next two weeks will be the installation of rebar for the mat slab foundation.
Thank you and we look forward to our next construction update in two weeks on July 18th.
