Construction Update #2 - June 20, 2025
Hello Neighbors,
A new tower crane has emerged on the site! If you happen to have walked by 1515 South Van Ness recently, you’ll notice the tower crane standing 185 feet above the ground or nearly 15 stories tall. The tower crane is a significant milestone for the project as it helps facilitate our foundation concrete pours in the coming months all the way up to the final structural beam top off next year.
Update for June 20, 2025
This week, we have completed the required Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) safety inspections of the recently erected tower crane to ensure it is ready for safe use during its operation. We have installed the formwork and bottom layer of rebar for the concrete placing boom pads. Now, we are beginning to receive deliveries of the electrical conduit to the job site which will soon be installed below the foundation.
Next week, we are scheduled to place the concrete for the two placing boom pads which will be used to support the temporary placing booms. These are equipment needed to later pour concrete for the foundation. By the end of next week, we will install the electrical conduit for the foundation and begin to pour concrete for the mat slab layer, which is essentially a layer of concrete below the foundation.
