Hello Neighbors,
We hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving and a good start to their holiday season. At Casa Adelante – 1515 South Van Ness, our crew took the day off to spend it with family and friends giving everyone a few days off to enjoy time with one another. On site, the concrete pours continue with Level 5’s East deck completed earlier this week. We’ve begun preparing for Level 6 as we add yet another floor to our future community.
There’s a lot of hustle and bustle down on Level 1 as rough-ins continue to get installed as we prepare for the topping slab to be poured in early January. A topping slab is a thin, non-structured layer of concrete placed over all the conduit, rebar, and MEP (mechanical, electrical and plumbing) lines that creates the smooth, durable and level finished concrete. Think of it as the top bun of a hamburger – all the ingredients and base bun are underneath it and the topping slab finishes it out.
Update for December 5th
We completed the vertical walls and columns concrete pours on Level 5 earlier this week. The Level 6 West deck is being formed, with rebar, post-tensioned cables and in-slab MEP being installed through mid-December when we will also place the concrete for Level 6 West.
The Level 6 East deck will go through the same process as the West, with that area being poured in mid-December. We anticipate completing most – if not all – of the concrete pours for columns and walls on Level 6 by the end of the month.
