Construction Update #1 - June 6, 2025
Hello Neighbors,
Construction and work is underway at Casa Adelante – 1515 South Van Ness, a new 100% affordable housing community under development by Mission Economic Development Agency and Chinatown Community Development Center. If you’re receiving this email, you may have happened to sign up to receive updates on the project or have attended one of our many community engagement events over the last few years. It was wonderful to see many familiar faces and friends at the Groundbreaking Celebration back on April 16th and we appreciate your ongoing support for the project.
As we steadily march toward completion aimed for early 2027, the project team would like to provide regular updates to the neighborhood about ongoing construction activities. Update for June 6, 2025
This week, we have continued to install soil-mix ground improvement panels to strengthen the soil throughout the site where the future building will be built. We have also excavated the soil for the concrete tower crane foundation and placed rebar for that foundation.
Next week, we will begin to install formwork for the placing boom foundations, pour the concrete for the tower crane foundation, clear a level area for the mobile crane used to erect the tower crane, and complete all other site readiness work in preparation for the tower crane erection. The tower crane is scheduled to be erected later in June. Crane parts staging and assembly will take place along South Van Ness Avenue, near 26thStreet, with mobile crane erection occurring from within the project site. Technical and safety personnel will supervise the entire duration to ensure a smooth and successful process.
