Hello Neighbors,
There’s a lot of rebar on the site right now! In the mat slab alone, there will be approximately 433,000 feet of rebar installed – that’s nearly 82 miles. That’s enough rebar to stretch from San Francisco to Sacramento.
Since the rat slab was poured a few weeks ago, work has been ongoing to install and to place all the rebar on top of the rat slab ahead of the first mat slab concrete pour on the weekend of July 26th. Inserts for the mechanical, plumbing and electrical piping have been installed as you see throughout the site on the photos below.
Update for July 18th
Over the course of this week and next, we are installing the bottom and top layers of rebar for the building mat foundation as well as the in-slab plumbing, electrical piping and conduit that runs throughout the 6-foot thick foundation layer.
Our first big concrete foundation pour will start next weekend on Friday, July 25th and be completed by Saturday evening on July 26th. There will be pumps staged around the perimeter of the construction site and cement trucks will be servicing the pour. Pedestrian and traffic control will be setup around the project perimeter throughout the pour to safely direct pedestrians and vehicles in the neighborhood. Following next weekend’s pour, we will complete about two-thirds of the structure’s foundation. Our second and final mat slab foundation pour will start the weekend of August 1st.
These are our largest cement pours throughout the entire schedule of the project. We will do our best to minimize impacts and appreciate the neighborhood’s patience and support as we complete these critical project milestones.
