Hello Neighbors,
It’s a new year here at 1515 South Van Ness. We’re looking forward to a productive start of the year as we finish up our vertical concrete pours and top-off our building in the coming months. As for January, work continues to bring our building up to Level 7 and rough-ins have begun to move up to Level 3. The new homes for our future residents are starting to take shape as rooms have been framed on Level 2 as shared in the photos below. We have a busy month ahead of us!
Update for January 5th
As we pass into the new year, we are setting ourselves up nicely for installation of MEP sleeves and inserts for the Level 7 West concrete deck. MEP sleeves are pre-installed openings in walls or floors that allow mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems to pass through easily without cutting into the already-poured concrete later.
The Level 7 West rebar and PT cables will be installed next, with its concrete pour scheduled for mid-January. The Level 7 East deck is right behind, with its concrete pour scheduled for later in January. All the Level 7 walls and columns will have rebar installed and concrete poured by the end of the month.
We will soon be starting our Exterior Skin phase of work on our project site, and it will progress concurrently while the concrete decks continue up the building. To start this phase, we will be installing the exterior scaffolding along the South Van Ness Avenue and 26th Street building elevations by the end of January. Exterior netting will also be installed on the outside of the scaffolding, which will help to reduce the transmittance of dust and noise from within the building.
