Hello Neighbors,
There is a lot going on at the site right now! Over the next few weeks, we’ll have our final vertical concrete pours for our columns, scaffolding will be going up around the entire perimeter, weather barrier for the exterior building envelope is being put on, and our underground vaults for our permanent power through PG&E will have been installed. Soon we’ll be talking about the rough-ins for our units and seeing our future residents’ homes become increasingly built out.
Update for March 18th
The West Roof Deck has been formed, with in-slab MEPs, rebar and post-tensioned cables being installed prior to the concrete pour later in March. Following the Roof Deck pour, the concrete roof pads will be installed at locations where rooftop MEP equipment will be placed. Concrete roof pads are flat, reinforced concrete slabs to support mechanical equipment such as MEP units, solar panels, or other equipment on the roof. The East Roof Deck is beginning to be formed and, as done with the West side, MEPs, rebar and post-tensioned cables will be installed prior to its concrete pour in early April.
Scaffolding has been installed around the building perimeter up to Level 6 to facilitate the installation of the exterior finishes, including windows, waterproofing and tile backer board. Tile backer board is a moisture-resistant panel installed to provide a stable, durable surface that prevents the exterior elements coming into the building. By mid-April, the scaffolding will begin to be installed up to the roof level for the continuation of exterior finishes installation.
