Hello Neighbors,
Summer has arrived at Casa Adelante – 1515 South Van Ness. The last few weeks have been dedicated to finishing up the work on our roof and all the back-of-house support needed on top. Windows are steadily being installed with our mock-up façade undergoing testing to ensure everything looks and operates properly.
A mockup façade is a small-scale test section of the building’s exterior wall system built before we construct the building’s entire façade. This way, we can verify that the waterproofing, materials, and assembly methods will perform as designed before they’re implemented and installed elsewhere.
Update for May 22nd
At the rooftop, the solar panel stanchions, mechanical duct supports, and MEP equipment supports have been installed in preparation for the roofing installation which began earlier this week. Installation of all the roofing materials will continue through the end of June. By then, the overhead view of the building will look dramatically different as the whole roof turns white with all the roofing materials installed.
At the South Van Ness Avenue exterior façade, you will notice the biggest transformation over the next few weeks. The fiber cement panel will be installed, painted, and thin-set brick tiles will be installed. By mid-June, the buildings true exterior façade colors will start to appear tile-by-tile.
On the less-seen interiors of the building, insulation and drywall activities are ramping up and will continue throughout the building all Summer long.
